Over 550 Former Israeli Security Officials Urge Trump to Push for Gaza Ceasefire, Prisoner Deal

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- More than 550 former Israeli security officials and families of Israeli prisoners are calling on President Donald Trump to push for a ceasefire in Gaza to secure a prisoner deal, reported Clash Report. Families of Israeli prisoners had repeatedly called for stopping the genocide only to secure a prisoner deal before any resumption of it.
In a joint message, top ex-commanders from the Israeli army, Mossad, Shin Bet, and Foreign Ministry urged Trump to use his upcoming visit to broker a breakthrough. They said the war has gone beyond its original goals and is now risking the lives of Israeli prisoners.
The letter came as public pressure grows in Israel. Families of Israeli prisoners demand the government pause its offensive to allow negotiations. Thousands of Israelis joined protests outside the U.S. embassy and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in recent days.
The former officials, all members of Commanders for Israel’s Security (CIS), said the war no longer serves national goals.
The signatories warned that continued fighting risks collapsing regional alliances, including normalization deals especially with Saudi Arabia.
They praised Trump’s influence in the region and urged him to lead a diplomatic push.
The signers include Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Matan Vilnai, former IDF Deputy Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Danny Yatom, former Mossad head, Adm. (Ret.) Ami Ayalon, former Shin Bet chief, Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Ephraim Sneh, former Deputy Defense Minister, and Ambassador (Ret.) Jeremy Issacharoff, former envoy to Germany.
Trump is expected to meet regional leaders, including in Doha, where released Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander is also expected to travel this month.
