Israel Continues Gaza Attacks Despite Announced Ceasefire Deal
Gaza (QNN)- Israel’s genocide in Gaza entered its 734th consecutive day today, with new airstrikes and artillery bombardments across the Strip. The attacks came hours after the announcement of a ceasefire deal reached in Sharm el-Sheikh negotiations under US President Donald Trump’s mediation.
Despite the start of the ceasefire at 12:00 pm (local time), Israeli forces continued military operations in several areas of Gaza, deepening Palestinian fears that the deal might collapse before implementation.
In Gaza City, Israeli Apache helicopters opened fire on al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, while artillery and airstrikes hit al-Zaytoun, al-Tuffah, and al-Daraj areas, killing two Palestinians.
Israeli troops also detonated two armored vehicles between civilian homes in al-Sabra neighborhood, spreading panic among residents.
In central Gaza, Israeli naval boats fired at the coast of Nuseirat refugee camp, while artillery shells struck areas north of the camp.
In Khan Younis, Israeli tanks carried out morning artillery bombardments east of Hamad City, northwest of the area.
Meanwhile, Israel’s army radio said combat units in Gaza were ordered to prepare for either a full withdrawal or a redeployment to rear positions under the new agreement.
The Health Ministry and the Government Media Office released new figures on the ongoing genocide in Gaza. According to the report, the total number of Palestinians killed has risen to 67,183, while 169,841 others have been injured. More than 9,000 people remain missing, many of them believed to be buried under the rubble.
The statement added that the victims include over 20,000 children and 12,500 women, reflecting the devastating impact of the genocide on families. It also noted that 459 people have died from famine and malnutrition, including 154 children, as starvation continues to spread across the besieged Strip.
The report also documented the loss of 1,701 medical staff, 140 civil defense members, and 254 journalists since the start of the war.
More than 90% of Gaza’s buildings have been destroyed or damaged. The strikes have completely demolished 165 schools and universities and 835 mosques, leaving the Strip in near-total ruin.
