Israeli Minister Ben Gvir Posts Video Mocking Palestinian Detainees, Calls to Legalize Killing Them

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir continues to incite violence and cruelty against Palestinian detainees. On Friday, he posted a new video showing several detainees and hostages handcuffed and sitting on the ground. Smiling at the camera, he said, “This is how we treat them. The only thing left is to execute them.”

The minister appeared days earlier in another video boasting about depriving Palestinian detainees and hostages of their basic rights inside Israeli jails. He once again promoted a proposed law that would allow the death penalty for Palestinians accused of carrying out acts of resistance.
The latest video, filmed inside Ketziot Prison in the Naqab desert, shows Ben Gvir standing before a small cell. Through the metal door, he points to three detainees sitting with their heads down. “All the Hamas elite members are on the ground, as they should be,” he says. “They get only the minimum. No jam, no chocolate, no TV, no radio. We took everything from here.” He adds: “But there’s still one thing missing; the death penalty law.”
Ben Gvir has urged the Israeli parliament to approve a bill that permits executing Palestinian detainees. Last month, a Knesset committee approved the bill for a first reading in the general assembly. To become law, it must pass three readings. The proposal states that anyone who “intentionally or out of indifference causes the death of an Israeli out of hatred or hostility toward Israel” should face execution.
Over 10,000 Palestinians are currently held hostages by Israel, including children and women. Human rights groups say they face torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Many have died as a result.
Rights organizations have repeatedly condemned Ben Gvir for intensifying the violent treatment against detainees. Since taking office in late 2022, he has imposed severe restrictions, including banning family visits, reducing food portions, and limiting access to showers.
Ben Gvir’s statements and the ongoing crackdown on Palestinian hostages raise growing concern about Israel’s treatment of detainees and the erosion of legal safeguards.
