Gaza Media Office Responds to US Claims of ‘Hamas Looting Aid Truck’

Gaza (QNN)- The Gaza Media Office strongly denied US Central Command (CENTCOM)’s claim that Hamas members looted a humanitarian aid truck in southern Gaza, calling the accusation “fabricated and baseless.”
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had posted that a US drone observed “suspected Hamas operatives looting an aid truck” in northern Khan Younis, Gaza.
In a detailed statement, the Gaza Media Office said CENTCOM’s video and narrative were part of a “systematic disinformation campaign” aimed at distorting facts and undermining Palestinian police forces who secure aid convoys across Gaza.
“The accusation is completely false,” the statement read. “It is an intentional attempt to discredit the police, who have sacrificed more than 1,000 officers while protecting aid deliveries and humanitarian workers.”
According to the Gaza Media Office, Gaza’s police forces have accompanied and secured humanitarian convoys for months, ensuring aid reaches storage centers before distribution to needy families.
The office noted that several international organizations working in Gaza confirmed police units were not involved in any looting or theft. Instead, they reportedly helped prevent such incidents.
The statement stressed that Israeli forces are deliberately targeting police officers and volunteers to “create chaos and encourage theft” within Gaza.
The Gaza Media Office also challenged CENTCOM’s drone footage, which showed no proof of looting. The statement pointed out that the US military failed to specify when or where the alleged incident took place, or provide any material evidence.
“CENTCOM itself admitted that it only ‘observed suspected Hamas members,’ yet presented the accusation as a confirmed fact,” the Gaza Media Office said.
The office questioned CENTCOM’s claim that “around 40 countries and international organizations are operating in Gaza,” clarifying that only 22 are currently active in humanitarian relief, most facing Israeli restrictions and denials of entry.
The Gaza Media Office criticized CENTCOM for ignoring ongoing Israeli violations during the ceasefire. It listed several examples, including:
- The killing of 250 Palestinians, including 97 children and 39 women.
- The injury of 579 civilians, 99% of them women, children, or elderly people.
- 29 detentions by Israeli forces during the truce period.
- Daily incursions and violations of the designated buffer zone.
- Severe restrictions on aid, with only 24% of agreed humanitarian trucks and 10% of needed fuel entering Gaza.
The statement also condemned Israel’s obstruction of heavy equipment for retrieving bodies from rubble, the prevention of ambulance entry, and the delay of medical evacuations abroad.
The Gaza Media Office stated that the US has lost credibility as a neutral actor by repeating Israeli narratives and ignoring verified humanitarian data from Gaza.
“The silence of CENTCOM over Israel’s crimes, while promoting false allegations against Palestinian security forces, confirms its full alignment with the occupation,” the statement said.
It called on mediators and guarantor states of the ceasefire to intervene and stop “misleading campaigns that distort the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The office urged them to ensure the entry of all aid and fuel without obstacles, protect civilians, and hold Israel accountable for ongoing violations.
