US Military Frames Hamas for Alleged Aid Theft While Gaza Faces Severe Blockade
Gaza (QNN)- The US Central Command (CENTCOM) posted that a US drone allegedly observed “suspected Hamas operatives looting an aid truck” in northern Khan Younis, Gaza. The post alleged that Hamas looted the truck, yet offered no proof.
CENTCOM claimed that operatives attacked the driver, moved him to the median, and stole the truck and supplies. The post claimed that nearly 600 trucks of aid enter Gaza daily, contradicting reports by local authorities and international organizations.
The US drone recorded only a single truck while failing to capture hundreds of daily Israeli attacks that kill civilians and destroy property.
The CENTCOM post labels the alleged looters as Hamas, yet offering no proof. The drone video also appears heavily edited, preventing verification of the truck’s route, destination, or whether it was part of the official humanitarian distribution network.
The claim that the incident occurred in northern Khan Younis also raises questions. The area borders Israeli positions and the private militia of Hossam Al-Astal, which operates under Israeli protection.
Recent international and UN reports indicate that aid theft has dramatically declined under Hamas’ restored security control, from roughly 80% during Israeli control to less than 5% after the ceasefire.
Local and international monitoring also contradict CENTCOM’s claim of 600 trucks daily. Verified data show the actual average remains around 145 trucks per day, far below the figure highlighted in CENTCOM’s tweet. The Government Media Office had stated that the daily average of commercial and humanitarian aid trucks entering Gaza is only 145, out of the 600 trucks expected under the ceasefire agreement. This includes 50 trucks carrying fuel and other essential supplies, meaning Israel has allowed just 24% of the expected aid into the territory.
