Two Palestinians shot dead by Israeli soldiers near Ramallah

Ramallah (QNN)- Israeli occupation soldiers shot and killed two Palestinian youths near the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Monday, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed.

Local sources reported that two Palestinians, identified as Khaled Dabbas, 22, and Basel Basbous, 19, residents of the Jalazone camp, were shot by Israeli forces with more than 30 bullets while in a car just outside the Jalazone camp, north of Ramallah.

Dabbas and Basbous were both killed. A third man, identified as 19-year-old Raafat Habash, a resident of the town of Birzeit, was in the car with them, and he was also injured during the shooting.

The three men, all reported to be workers in Ramallah and were returning from work, were taken out of the vehicle and left to bleed on the ground for around 40 minutes before being removed and taken away, including Habash as he was arrested by the Israeli forces, local sources reported.

The ministry of health said it was informed of the “martyrdom of two citizens, after the Israeli occupation opened fire on them near Jalazone refugee camp.”

The Israeli forces claimed that the three men planned to carry out a ramming attack against its soldiers. Local sources said that the men were not wanted by the forces and had no history with the occupation forces.

A one-day general strike was observed yesterday in the city of Ramallah and al-Bireh, with all stores closed, in mourning of the two men.

The killings comes amid increasing Israeli attacks in the occupied Palestinian cities in recent weeks.

Last Wednesday, four Palestinian youths were assassinated by Israeli occupation forces during an aggressive raid on the Jenin refugee camp, north of Jenin city.

On the day following, a 7-year-old Palestinian boy died after his heart stopped beating out of fear while being chased by Israeli occupation soldiers in the village of Tuqa, southeast of Bethlehem.

On Saturday, an 18-year-old Palestinian was shot with a bullet by Israeli soldiers in the neck while driving a motorbike in town of al-Eizariya in occupied Jerusalem, killing him on the spot.

Since the start of the year, at least 160 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation, according to the Health Ministry. The death toll in the West Bank is the highest since 2015, as the number of the martyrs is reported to be 109, 19 of them were killed in September.
