Palestinian teen shot dead by Israeli soldiers in occupied Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- A Palestinian teenager was shot and killed on Saturday by Israeli occupation soldiers in the town of al-Eizariya in occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Health Ministry and local sources confirmed that 18-year-old Fayez Khaled Damdum was shot with a bullet by Israeli soldiers in the neck while driving a motorbike in town of al-Eizariya, killing him on the spot.

A day of mourning was observed yesterday in the al-Eizariya after Damdum’s death was confirmed.

Dozens of people gathered outside the Damdum family’s house to pay their respects, chanting anti-occupation slogans. Hundreds attended the funeral procession of the slain teenager.

Confrontations also erupted between Israeli occupation soldiers and Palestinian youths who took to the streets of al-Eizariya in protest against Israel’s killings of Palestinians.

The killing of Damdum comes amid increasing Israeli attacks in the occupied Palestinian cities in recent weeks and heightened security measures imposed ahead of Jewish holidays.

On Wednesday, four Palestinian youths were assassinated by Israeli occupation forces during an aggressive raid on the Jenin refugee camp, north of Jenin city.

On the day following, a 7-year-old Palestinian boy died after his heart stopped beating out of fear while being chased by Israeli occupation soldiers in the village of Tuqa, southeast of Bethlehem.

Since the start of the year, more than 150 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation, including 49 in the Gaza Strip and at least 100 in the occupied West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, according to the Health Ministry. The death toll in the West Bank is the highest since 2015.
