Smotrich Accuses France, UK, Canada of ‘Moral Hypocrisy, Anti-Semitism’ for Condemning Gaza Genocide

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israel’s far-right Finance Minister accused the leaders of France, the UK, and Canada of “moral hypocrisy” and “antisemitism” after they threatened to take action over Israel’s violations of international law during the Gaza genocide.
“Israel will not bow its head before this moral hypocrisy, antisemitism, and one-sidedness,” Smotrich said in a post on X, accusing the three countries of “morally aligning themselves with a terrorist organisation”.
The leaders of the UK, France, and Canada issued a sharp warning to Israel on Monday. In a joint statement, they condemned Israel’s expanded attacks on Gaza and the West Bank and threatened concrete action if the offensive continues and the blockade on humanitarian aid is not lifted.
“We will not stand by while the Netanyahu Government pursues these egregious actions,” the statement said. “If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response.”
The three leaders said the suffering in Gaza is “intolerable” and that Israel’s recent pledge to allow a small amount of food into the enclave is “wholly inadequate.” They urged Israel to immediately stop its assaults and fully reopen humanitarian aid channels.
They also called on Israel to cooperate with the United Nations and allow aid deliveries.
The joint statement stated that Israel violates international law by denying civilians essential aid.
It also condemned recent threats made by Israeli officials suggesting plans to expel native Palestinians. “Permanent forced displacement is a breach of international humanitarian law,” they said.
“We will not hesitate to take further action, including targeted sanctions,” the statement read.
In particular, Smotrich took issue with the three countries saying they are “committed to recognising a Palestinian state”.
“They have gone so far as to seek to reward terrorism by granting it a state,” Smotrich said in a post on X.
“Israel will never agree to the establishment of a terrorist state in its midst that would endanger its existence and threaten the future of the Jewish people and their one and only state,” he added.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said the joint statement was a “huge prize” for Hamas in the war.
Netanyahu said “all European leaders” should follow US president Donald Trump’s example in supporting Israel.
