Huckabee Mocks Macron, Tells Him to ‘Make Palestine in France’

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee mocked French President Emmanuel Macron’s growing call in Europe to recognize a Palestinian state. In a Fox News interview, Huckabee said, “If France is really so determined to see a Palestinian state, I have a suggestion — carve out a piece of the French Riviera and create a Palestinian state.”

Macron had described recognizing Palestine as “not only a moral duty, but a political necessity.”

Huckabee, appointed by US President Trump, has repeatedly voiced full support for Israel. He called Macron’s position “revolting” and accused France of trying to pressure a “sovereign nation.”

But critics say there’s nothing sovereign about Israel’s foundation — a state born through the mass expulsion of native Palestinians in 1948, and legitimized only by a controversial and deeply contested UN resolution. The creation of Israel led to the forced displacement of over 750,000 Palestinians in what is now known today as the Nakba, or catastrophe.

Hamas called Huckabee’s comments “a shameless insult” to Palestinian rights and international law, and a “cover for genocide and colonialism.”

Observers say Huckabee’s statement reflects not just Trump’s pro-Israel stance, but a wider US policy trend of openly backing Israeli apartheid, land theft, and impunity.

For decades, the US has publicly supported a “two-state solution” — an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel. This is often stated as a goal only through direct negotiations between the occupation state and the Palestinian people. However, in practice, the US undermines efforts toward statehood and provides unconditional support for Israeli occupation and military action.
