Gaza: Israel Issues Forced Displacement Threat for North Gaza’s Jabalia Camp
Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Israeli military issued on Monday night a forced displacement threat for the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza amid intense and deadly airstrikes following the resumption of its brutal assault after nearly two months of fragile ceasefire.
The army’s Arabic language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said, “To all those present in the area of Jabalia, this is an early warning before a strike.. For your safety, head south toward the known shelters immediately,” referring to al-Mawasi.
The al-Mawasi “safe zone” in Khan Younis was heavily targeted by the Israeli military during the final months of the 15-month war. Many residents, who lost their homes, are still crowded into makeshift tents in the area. After resuming its genocide on March 18, Israel escalated its attacks on the region, targeting the tents and killing dozens.
The town of Jabalia and its decades-old urban refugee camp—the largest in Gaza, home to more than 110,000 registered residents—endured weeks of devastating Israeli bombardment following the start of the assault on Gaza in October 2023.
Soon after, displaced families were seen walking back to the camp along streets lined with rubble, carrying whatever remained of their belongings. After the fragile ceasefire, those who had lost their homes set up tents as makeshift shelters beside the ruins, as they had no other place to go.
The camp has become a “ghost town” with around 70% of homes and buildings completely destroyed in Israel’s deadly assault on the area, according to December 2024 reports.

The Israeli attacks, which began in the early hours of March 18, have resulted in the killing over 730 civilians, the majority of whom are children, so far. Hundreds more have been injured, with many still missing under the rubble, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Israeli air force jets have been carrying out a series of attacks across Gaza, targeting multiple areas in the north, center, and south. Reports confirm intense bombardment of residential homes, schools, and tents housing displaced Palestinians.
