Gaza Death Toll Rises to 52,862 Amid Intensifying Israeli Bombardment and Ongoing Blockade

Gaza (Quds News Network)- At least 29 Palestinians have been killed and 94 others injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, as Israel continues to bombard the enclave and enforce a total blockade.
Four bodies of people killed in previous Israeli attacks were also recovered over the past day, it added.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed 52,862 people and wounded 119,648 others since October 7, 2023, the Ministry statement on Telegram noted.
At least 2,749 Palestinians were killed and 7,607 others wounded since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18 this year, it said.
The death toll is expected to rise as many remain trapped under the rubble. The majority of the victims are women and children.
At least 17 Palestinian civilians were killed in their sleep and several others injured when two consecutive Israeli airstrikes struck the Fatema Bani Assad School in Jabalia, northern Gaza, where families had taken shelter.

Israel unilaterally violated the Gaza ceasefire on March 18 after refusing to proceed to the second phase, which would have secured the release of all remaining captives. Netanyahu has repeatedly rejected offers from Hamas for their release.
Since March 2, Israel has closed Gaza’s main crossings, halting the flow of food, medical aid, fuel, and other critical humanitarian supplies. This blockade has resulted in a severe and unprecedented decline in living conditions. Human rights organizations have accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war against the Palestinians.
