Fun Day at the Beach: Father of Freed Israeli Captive Shares Son’s “Good Moments” in Hamas Captivity in Gaza

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The father of an Israeli captive recently freed from Gaza in a prisoner exchange has shared some of the “good moments” his son experienced during Hamas captivity, including being taken for a fun day at the beach.
In an interview with Israel’s Channel 13, Danny Miran, father of freed Israeli captive Omri Miran, said his son talks only about “the good things” from his captivity in Gaza.
“He was well-fed and never starved. He cooked for himself.. He even decided which spices they should bring,” he added.
“One day, they took him to the sea. He’s connected to many people, and apparently, he built relationships wherever he went in Gaza. People there recognized his strength and unique character, ” Danny said.

Hagai Angerst, father of Israeli soldier Matan Angerst, also shared details of his son’s captivity and how the resistance treated him humanely. “He prayed three times a day using a siddur he requested and received from a Hamas official,” he said.
Angerst said that his son moved from place to place. “His conditions were much harder. He was a soldier who fought against them”, he explained.
Angerst added that the Israeli soldier “could choose from the food available.”
Previous Israeli prisoners, both soldiers and settlers, confirmed in multiple interviews that Hamas fighters treated them humanely. They said the fighters feared Israeli airstrikes more than harming captives. Former female captives also reported friendly discussions with their captors.
Since the first group of prisoners was released, Israeli authorities have imposed strict control over statements from freed captives. This measure came after early testimonies highlighted the humane treatment by the resistance, contradicting Israeli propaganda.
Omer Shem Tov, one of the captives released in the January ceasefire which was violated by Israel, kissed the foreheads of two Hamas fighters before his release during the handover.
The emotional gesture has gone viral, with the video circulating widely across Arabic and Hebrew media. Many have highlighted the gesture as a genuine expression of gratitude. The incident has also raised questions about the broader Israeli narrative and the treatment of prisoners.
