Gaza Resistance Arrests Key Militia Member Linked to Israel, ISIS, and Aid Looting

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza’s internal security forces have arrested a key figure involved in aiding the Israeli military, looting humanitarian aid, and fighting with ISIS in Sinai, security sources confirm to Quds News Network.
The detainee, identified by initials “A.N.,” is accused of leaking sensitive combat zone details about resistance fighters to Israel. He is also implicated in the murder of a Palestinian police officer before the genocide began. Security sources say he was a close aide to Yasser Abu Shabaab, leader of a growing Israeli-backed militia in Gaza.
The arrest follows increasing reports of a rogue force inside Gaza. According to Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth, the Abu Shabaab militia is armed, supported, and protected by Israel. The group includes former ISIS fighters, criminals, and ex-prisoners, many of whom were released from prisons after the genocide began.
One of the militia’s senior commanders, Issam Nabahin, fought with ISIS in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. He was sentenced to death for his actions but escaped prison during Israel’s initial attacks.
Abu Shabaab’s forces have looted aid trucks, including shipments from the Red Cross, UNRWA, and the United Nations. Though they claimed to offer “security services,” multiple sources, including a UN official, confirm the group stole goods systematically. Internal UN documents reportedly flagged Abu Shabaab for large-scale aid theft.
The militia currently has around 300 members, according to Israeli media, and operates mostly in eastern Rafah. About 30 families in the area openly support them and are reportedly shielded by the Israeli army.
Israeli leader Avigdor Lieberman recently confirmed that Israel armed the Abu Shabaab militia. His comments forced government censors to reveal limited details. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the move, calling it a tactic to reduce Israeli army casualties. “What’s wrong with that?” he asked. “It only saves the lives of Israeli soldiers.”
Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth cited Palestinian Authority sources as stating that the group also receives salaries via the Authority. These payments reportedly flow through Baha al-Balusha, a senior PA officer in Gaza. Former Fatah leader Mohammad Dahlan is also believed to support the militia.
Security experts warn that Abu Shabaab’s rise marks the formation of a dangerous, hybrid force in Gaza—one with links to Israel, the PA, and ISIS. The group is seen as a direct threat to both Hamas and Gaza’s civil order.
On Monday night, the Israeli military reportedly launched an airstrike to aid Abu Shabaab’s thugs in a direct clash with Hamas fighters. According to Israel’s i24news, the Israeli Air Force drone targeted four Hamas fighters during a firefight in southern Gaza. The incident marked an Israeli strike conducted solely to assist the Abu Shabaab militia.
The exchange began near midnight when Hamas fighters and Abu Shabaab thugs clashed. Israel intervened by deploying a drone to monitor and then strike Hamas positions. The militia later claimed responsibility for killing Hamas security personnel during the skirmish.
This latest incident reinforces local accusations that Israel is actively bombing anyone who threatens their allied militia in Gaza. Abu Shabaab and his criminals have become like an Israeli military unit enjoying full protection.
