11 Killed in Israeli Massacre in Ain al-Hilweh Refugee Camp in Sidon

Sidon (QNN)- At least eleven refugees were killed in an Israeli strike in Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon. The attack hit the vicinity of Khalid ibn al-Walid Mosque.
Initial reports indicate two consecutive strikes struck the area. Wounded victims were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Mosques inside the camp broadcast urgent calls asking residents to clear the streets to allow ambulances to reach the injured. Later, loudspeakers confirmed the deaths and again urged civilians to facilitate emergency access.
Lebanon24 reported that the missiles came from fighter jets. The weapons appear to be precision-guided missiles.
The incident has sparked fears of a massacre and escalated tensions in and around Ain al-Hilweh, one of Lebanon’s largest and most volatile refugee camps.
Israel continues to violate the declared ceasefire with Lebanon on a daily basis. These breaches have left hundreds of people dead or injured.
The ceasefire was meant to end Israel’s October 2023 aggression, which escalated in September 2024 into a full-scale war. That Israeli war killed over 4,000 people and wounded around 17,000.
Despite the agreement, Israel still occupies five hills in southern Lebanon captured during the last war. It also holds other Lebanese areas under occupation for decades.
By June 2025, Israel had carried out approximately 3,700 violations of the ceasefire, underscoring the fragile security situation along the Lebanon-Israel border.
