Three Israeli Football Players Held for Rape of American Tourist in Tel Aviv
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Three Israeli footballers; two active players from the National League and Liga Alef, and a former player, were arrested for raping a 29-year-old American tourist in Tel Aviv, reported Israeli media.
Police say the tourist filed a complaint on November 1. She told investigators that she was raped earlier this month in a small hotel in the city.
According to reporting by Israeli channel 12, all three suspects are professional footballers. One plays in the National League. It is believed that the Israelis raped the American tourist over the weekend after she met one of them online.
One of the players denied the crime. He claimed the encounter was consensual. He said he picked up the tourist in his car and later booked a hotel room, where two friends joined him. He also said the tourist agreed to be with two men but refused one of them.
The defense of the three criminals repeated the same claim, adding that their clients have no criminal record and expecting them to be released soon.
Israeli channel 12 reported that “the entire incident is documented.” Some of the material was even circulated. Police are now examining that footage.
