Yemen’s Ansar Allah Sinks Israeli-Linked Ship ‘Magic Seas’ in the Red Sea
Sana’a (Quds News Network)- Yemen’s Ansar Allah released a video on Tuesday showing the moment they sank the commercial Israeli-linked vessel Magic Seas in the Red Sea. The Yemeni Armed Forces stated that the ship’s owners violate a ban on entering occupied Palestinian ports. The footage begins with a warning in English from the Yemeni Naval Forces. The speaker orders the Magic Seas to stop immediately for inspection and warns of consequences for non-compliance. The ship refused to comply. A voice from aboard responded that the vessel was making a “legal passage” and requested the Yemeni Naval Forces not to interfere. Moments later, the video shows a series of hits using naval drones and missiles. Explosions rocked the vessel, and large plumes of smoke and fire engulfed its deck. The ship sustained critical damage. The video also includes a distress call from the crew. The crew described a direct hit and said the ship was taking on water and sinking. They pleaded for evacuation and assistance. The footage then shows masked, armed fighters boarding the ship, followed by images of severe structural damage and rising water levels until the ship gradually submerged. On Monday, Yemeni military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the ship was “completely sunk” after it was targeted with two explosive boats, five ballistic and cruise missiles, and three drones. Saree said the operation came in response to repeated violations by the ship’s owning company, which sent three ships to Israeli ports in the past week despite warnings. He added that the Yemeni military allowed the crew to evacuate safely once the ship began sinking. He also warned that Ansar Allah “will not hesitate” to use force against any vessel linked to companies defying the Yemen’s orders. Saree further declared that military operations would continue, including attacks on Israel’s southern port of Eilat and Israeli-linked shipping routes in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea. The campaign, he said, will go on until Israel ends its genocide in Gaza and lifts the blockade. The Magic Seas incident marks a major escalation in Yemen’s campaign to block Israeli maritime trade. The group has repeatedly targeted ships bound for Israel or connected to Israeli firms since October 2023, when the Israeli genocide in Gaza began.
