Yemeni Forces Repel US-UK Attack, Down US F-18 Fighter Jet
Sana’a (Quds News Network)- Yemeni Armed Forces announced the successful defense against a US-UK assault on Yemen last night and the downing of an F-18 fighter jet during the operation. Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree revealed the operation targeted the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its accompanying destroyers as the attack began.
In an official statement on Sunday, Saree said Yemeni forces countered the assault with eight cruise missiles and 17 drones. He confirmed the downing of an F-18 fighter jet during the operation. Most hostile warplanes left Yemeni airspace, retreating to international waters in the Red Sea to shield the carrier under fire.
The Yemeni forces forced the USS Harry S. Truman to withdraw to the northern Red Sea. Multiple attacks from missile, naval, and drone units drove the retreat, according to Saree.
Saree stressed Yemen’s readiness to confront future US, UK, or Israeli offensives. He warned against further aggression, stating Yemen’s full right to defend itself. He also reaffirmed support for Palestine, vowing to continue backing the resistance until the siege on Gaza ends.
On Saturday, Yemeni forces struck Tel Aviv with a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile. The attack targeted a military site in Jaffa, as confirmed by Saree, marking a bold expansion of Yemen’s military operations.
