Within a Week, Israel Kills 12 Medics in Strikes Across Gaza

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported that Israeli forces killed 12 of the ministry’s most experienced medics within the span of a single week, with a particular focus on those serving in intensive care units. He added that some of the victims were killed alongside their entire families.

Al-Bursh told Al Jazeera on Thursday that Israeli attacks have caused damage to Al-Awda Hospital and targeted the Indonesian Hospital, effectively depriving more than 400,000 people in northern Gaza of access to medical care.

Israel continues to target and burn medicine warehouses, including during the attack on Al-Awda Hospital. “This is part of a systematic and quiet campaign of killing and displacement, aimed at driving people from the north to the south,” Al-Bursh said, adding that residents have been forced to flee into the streets of Gaza City following Israel’s forced displacement orders.

International organizations have promised to deliver aid, but so far, nothing has reached the ministry’s warehouses, Al-Bursh noted.

He added that about 30% of the more than 53,000 people killed are children, and the number of wounded has reached 122,000—36,000 of whom have been identified by name and photo.

“Our children are dying from hunger and malnutrition, and the healthcare situation is catastrophic,” he added.

Al-Bursh said, “The occupation has deliberately dismantled the healthcare system through calculated and silent killings,” noting that 12 of the ministry’s most skilled medics were killed, with a particular focus on those working in intensive care units.

Al-Bursh warned that the Gaza Strip is experiencing a severe shortage of medical supplies and disinfectants, with post-surgical infections increasing as a result.
