Which Countries Have Recognized Palestine as a State?

New York (QNN)- At a high-level summit in New York on Monday ahead of the annual UN General Assembly (UNGA) meeting , hosted by France and Saudi Arabia, the leaders of six countries announced their decision to recognise Palestine as a state.”

The six countries are France, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, and Monaco. San Marino also recognised a Palestinian state.

Australia, Canada, Portugal and the UK formally made the move to recognise Palestine a day earlier.

In 2024, nine countries – Armenia, Slovenia, Ireland, Norway, Spain, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Barbados – formally recognised the State of Palestine.

Currently, at least 156 UN member states recognise the State of Palestine, as does the Holy See, the governing body of the Catholic Church and Vatican City, which holds UN observer status.
