Where are the borders of the State of Israel? Erdogan asks UNGA

United Nations (QNN)- Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took the centre stage on Tuesday during the UN General Assembly session as he condemned Israel’s anti Palestinian practices and world leaders’ failure to support Palestinians.

During his speech, Erdogan held an image of the time-lapsed map of Israel, which showed how the Israel had gobbled Palestinian territories over the decades.

“Where was Israel in 1947 and where is it now,” he said as he displayed the map in which Palestinian land marked in green color could be seen taken over by Israel.

“Where are the borders of the State of Israel? Is it the 1948 borders, the 1967 borders, or is there any other border?” Erdoğan asked the leaders of the member states, adding that Israel’s seizure of Palestinian territories is not legitimate.

“How can the Golan Heights and the West Bank settlements be seized just like other occupied Palestinian territories before the eyes of the world?” Erdogan asked.

He also accused the Trump administration of wanting to destroy Palestinian statehood with its unpublished deal of the century.

“Is the aim of the initiative to promote, as the ‘Deal of the Century,’ to entirely eliminate the presence of the state and the people of Palestine? Do you want another bloodshed?” he asked. “All actors of the international community, and in particular, the UN, should provide complete support to the Palestinian people beyond more promises.”
