We will stand very firm with Israel, said Rep. Jerry Carl

In an interview with JNS, Jewish News Syndicate, Rep. Jerry Carl, who represents Alabama’s 1st District, said that the US will stand firm with Israel.
“We need to support Israel any way we can. I don’t think there’s really an option there. We’ve got to stand firm. But as far as myself and my district are concerned, we will stand very firm with Israel,” he said.
Asking what values do America and Israel have in common, Carl replied, “BDS is horrible.”
He added, “What we’re talking about over there as far as the bias against the Israeli country. That will affect us in the Christian community as much as it will affect the Jewish community.”
Carl also said that the rise of anti-Semitism in America and the world has been driven by the “Arab community.”
“I think so much of that [anti-Semitism] has been driven by the Arab community. It’s almost like cancer. Although it is part of this country to have free thinking and free speech, I think we as legislators need to start pushing back on that.”
Asking if he would support anti-BDS legislation, Carl stated, “Yes. I think BDS is just bad all the way around. I couldn’t think of any way I could support that, period.”
It’s worth mentioning that the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.
