Watchdog: Over 1700 arrested, 300 attacked in 1948-occupied cities

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Arab Emergency Committee on Friday said that it has documented over 1700 arrests and over 300 attacks against native Palestinians or their properties during the latest tensions, Arab 48 reported.

The watchdog added that since the start of the Israeli authorities’ so-called “law enforcement” campaign, 100 native Palestinians have been being arrested on a daily basis.

On Friday, a statement by the Israeli police said that has arrested nearly 70 native Palestinains. It added that it has arrested 418 natives since the start of the recent ongoing arrest campaign.

The statement said over 2000 during the last two weeks and filed suits against nearly 175.

The committee also said that in addition to Musa Hassuneh from occupied Lod and Muhammad Kiwan from occupied Umm Al Fahem, 150 attacks by Israeli police or settlers against native Palestinians have been documented.

Moreover, 25 journalists, most of them were in occupied Jerusalem, got attacked by Israeli cops. Also, 72 attacks on houses, 128 attacks on cars, and 7 attacks on shops were documented. Over 50 workers were assaulted after taking part in Palestine’s general strike on May 18.
