“War of Extermination”: Israel Has Killed 18,000 Palestinian Children in Gaza Since October 2023

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces have killed about 18,000 children, 12,400 women, 1,400 medics, and 212 journalists in Gaza since the start of the genocide in October 2023. As Israel continues its assault on the enclave, more civilians continue to be killed.

The Gaza Government Media Office detailed numbers of civilians killed by Israel since the start of the assault. It said Israel has been systematically targeting civilians in Gaza as part of what it called a “war of extermination” against Palestinians.

Here’s the detailed numbers:

  • Over 65% of those killed are children, women, and the elderly.
More than 18,000 children and over 12,400 Palestinian women have been killed.
  • Israel has completely wiped out more than 2,180 Palestinian families—where the father, mother, and all children were killed—and wiped out over 5,070 other families, leaving only a single survivor in each case.
  • More than 1,400 doctors and healthcare workers have been killed, leading to the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system.
  • Over 113 civil defense personnel have been killed while performing their humanitarian duties.
  • In repeated attempts to silence the truth, Israel has also deliberately killed 212 journalists.
  • More than 750 people involved in securing and distributing humanitarian aid have also been killed.
  • Israel has killed over 13,000 students, more than 800 teachers and educational staff, and over 150 scientists, academics, university professors, and researchers.
  • Thousands of employees and workers across Gaza’s civil and essential service sectors have also been killed.

The Office said the “reality on the ground—documented by governmental and non-governmental organizations, human rights centers, international humanitarian groups, and even by testimonies from Israeli pilots who openly admitted to targeting civilians during airstrikes on homes and residential neighborhoods—provides indisputable evidence that the occupation is deliberately killing unarmed civilians without justification.”

“The attacks make no distinction between a child, a woman, an elderly person, a doctor, a journalist, or a paramedic,” it added.

Since resuming its assault on Gaza on March 18, Israel has killed over 2,100 Palestinians—most of them women and children—bringing the death toll from the ongoing genocide, which began in October 2023, to more than 52,200.
