Videos| 564 Israeli settlers break into Al-Aqsa, provoke Palestinians

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Under the pretext of marking Jewish holiday, a large number of extremist Israeli settlers accompanied by police broke into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem in the early morning hours of Thursday.

Under the occupation forces protection, over 564 Israeli settlers and officers broke into the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning break-in session.

The settlers entered through the Damascus Gate- which Palestinians call Bab al-Amoud Gate- and they were provoking the Palestinian worshipers by performing Talmudic prayers loudly in the courtyards of the mosque.

Settlers were also seen taking pictures of the mosque and other settlers inside it.

The occupation forces also detained at least 8 Palestinians in the mosque, including 4 girls, while allowing the settlers to enter the mosque freely.

The settlers’ storming of the mosque with such a large number came under the pretext of marking the week-long Sukkot holiday, a Jewish holiday which started on Monday evening, September 20 and ended next Monday, September 27.

Today is the second day in which the settlers stormed the mosque with this large number and several other sites, including the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and the archeological site of Sebastia in Nablus.

Israeli occupation authorities allow settler incursions to the mosque since 2003 under the forces protection, despite repeated objections and warnings by the Palestinian religious authorities as the visits provoke worshippers of the mosque.

Israeli forces always facilitate and protect the settlers breaking into the holy site while preventing Palestinian worshipers from entering it, assaulting and detaining them.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam which located in occupied Jerusalem.
