Video with broken Arabic accent threatens Paris Olympics

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- A video featuring a speaker with a broken Arabic accent, hinting at a foreign origin, who claims to be a Hamas member, has surfaced online, threatening the upcoming Paris Olympics in a new misinformation campaign.

The video, which gained over 2 million views on X in a few hours, is filled with linguistic errors, which can be easily spotted by any native Arabic speaker. Also, the speaker’s pronunciation suggests that he is a foreigner speaking with the Egyptian accent.

The footage was first published by an account on X named ‘Hamas fighter’ with the handle @endzionism24, an account, which was created last February but only started to post (or mainly repost other accounts’ posts) 4 days ago.

The account is following 40 accounts, most of which have been recognized as bots. All of this raises significant doubts about the identity of the video’s publisher, especially since the style of speech and production do not align with what Hamas typically releases. Moreover, the resistance movement usually publishes videos and statements exclusively through their channel on Telegram.

Update
Hamas political bureau member Izzat Al-Rishq warned that accounts affiliated with the Israeli security apparatus have published a fabricated video attributed to the resistance, in which it threatens to carry out killings in Paris due to Israel’s participation in the upcoming Olympics.

Al-Rishq clarified on Tuesday that this fake video is part of Zionist propaganda to incite against the Palestinian resistance.

He also reiterated calls to boycott the occupation state of Israel in all fields in response to the massacres and acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
