Tehran (Quds News Network)- The Israeli army has targeted the headquarters of Iran’s official radio and television authority in Tehran. The building is located in the northeast of the capital and employs around 50,000 staff.

The strike comes just hours after Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz publicly threatened to destroy the Iranian state broadcaster. On Monday, Katz threatened that the “propaganda and incitement mouthpiece of Iran is about to disappear.”

Before the attack, authorities called on residents to evacuate the area surrounding the headquarters. The evacuation appeared to signal an imminent strike.

The targeted building is a civilian facility. No immediate reports on casualties have been released.

Iran’s state broadcaster operates the country’s entire network of radio and television services. Headquartered in Tehran, it employs between 30,000 to 50,000 people. It runs 12 national TV channels, over 30 provincial stations, and several international outlets including Press TV, Al-Alam, HispanTV, and Sahar TV. In addition, it manages more than a dozen domestic radio stations and around 30 international radio services in various languages. The institution also publishes the Jam-e Jam newspaper and oversees multiple digital platforms.

Israel's attack marks a major escalation in its war with Iran, shifting from military to civilian infrastructure.
