Video| ‘Israel’ demolishes wall, room in Palestinian village of al-Walaja

Bethlehem (QNN)- Israeli occupation municipality on Thursday demolished a wall and a room in the village of al-Walaja, north of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Local sources said a staff from Israeli occupation municipality backed by Israeli soldiers, earlier today, raided al-Walaja village, escorted a bulldozer and started demolishing the wall and the room.

Israel does not allow Palestinians to build in most of al-Walaja, which is originally part of Beit Jala in Bethlehem, and parts of al-Walaja village were annexed by the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem.

Israeli occupation also constantly demolishes structures and houses of Palestinians, claiming they were built without a permit, rarely, if ever, issued for Palestinians.

It does not allow any development there while using the occupied land for its illegal settlement activity.

There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
