Video and Pictures| 60,000 worshipers perform Friday prayer at Al Aqsa mosque
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Nearly 60,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer at Al Aqsa mosque on the second Friday of Ramadan, which is 10,000 less than it on the second Friday last Ramadan.
Today’s prayers come following a tense night in which Israeli forces and settlers brutally attacked worshipers, who were leaving Al Aqsa mosque. Nearly 110 Jerusalemites were wounded, while 50 have been arrested during the terrorist settlers’ attack. Meanwhile, no settlers have been arrested.
Today, Israeli forces imposed strict measures around the holy mosque, preventing native Palestinians from entry. Palestinians from the West Bank were also denied entry under the pretext of not being vaccinated against Covid 19.
The Grand Mufti and preacher of Al Aqsa mosque, Sheik Muhammad Hussein, said that worshipers succeeded to enter the holy mosque despite the Israeli measures that all religions and international and humanitarian traditions reject.
“Is it reasonable to prevent people from entering their places of worship?!”, he wondered. “Is it reasonable or acceptable to put barriers and attack worshipers who are leaving Al Aqsa mosque after performing prayers?! Extremists settlers call for hate and wicked attacks, calling for killing Muslims and Arabs, so, where is the occupation state, which is obliged according to the international law to protect the freedoms, places of worship, and lives of those it id occupying?!”
