US ‘Will Forever Be Stained by Its Complicity’ in Israel’s Gaza Genocide: CAIR
Washington (Quds News Network)- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has slammed the Trump administration for its unwavering support for Israel amid the ongoing genocide and starvation.
“It is beyond the understanding of any moral individual how Trump administration officials can see the images of starving children and slaughtered aid seekers in Gaza without demanding an end to this man-made horror,” the US Muslim group said in a statement.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, a total of 128, including 86 children, have died due to hunger and malnutrition since the start of the genocide in October 2023.
Over 100 humanitarian organizations, including Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and Oxfam, warned on Wednesday that “mass starvation” is spreading across Gaza, with their colleagues in the enclave wasting away from hunger as Israel continues to block the entry of aid for more than four months.
“Our nation will forever be stained by its complicity with the Israeli apartheid government’s genocide. The genocide must end and all those who carried it out or were complicit must be held accountable,” CAIR added.
The US provides Israel with at least $3.8bn in military assistance annually, and it has given billions more since the Gaza war began.
The Biden administration has set a record by spending at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel in the year following the start of the assault on Gaza, according to a recent report by Brown University’s Costs of War project.
Trump has also reversed several measures taken by the previous administration regarding Israel, including resuming the shipment of heavy payload weapons that had been frozen by Biden and lifting sanctions on Israeli settlers. The Trump administration continues to shield Israel from condemnation and accountability at the UN and other international bodies.
