US ‘thinking bout’ replacing Abbas with Dahlan

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The United States is thinking about replacing the PA President Mahmoud Abbas with Former Fateh leader Mohammad Dahlan, said David Friedman, the US ambassador to the occupation state.
“We’re thinking about it, but we have no desire to engineer the Palestinian leadership,” Friedman said in an interview published by the Israel Hayom newspaper on Thursday.
The report said there are elements within the US administration in favor of supporting Dahlan, who lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to overthrow Abbas as Palestine’s president.
Friedman referred to the West Bank using the Israeli naming and claimed Israeli settlers, illegally occupying the West Bank “want a better life”.
“The people living in Judah and Samara want a better life. The Palestinian people need the will to understand this and make it happen.”
He also attacked the Abbas-led Palestinian Authority for “clutching to very old and irrelevant complaints.”
The US ambassador also hinted at the occupation state moving forward with its plan to illegally annex more Palestinian territory.
“I think it will happen,” said Friedman.
Dahlan, who is on Turkey’s most-wanted terrorism list for allegedly playing a part in the country’s 2016 failed coup, was exiled from Palestine following disputes inside Fatah movement.
Dahlan has been accused of playing roles in several international crimes including the failed coup in Turkey, the 2013’s coup in Egypt, the failed assassination of former Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, and the assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud Al Mabhouh among several other crimes.
