US Soldier Dies from Injuries Sustained While Serving in Gaza

Gaza (Quds News Network)- An American soldier, 23-year-old Sgt. Quandarius Davon Stanley, succumbed to his injuries on October 31, following what the US army described as a ‘critical non-combat incident’ in Gaza.
The US Army confirmed Stanley’s passing on Monday, noting he was injured during the temporary pier operation in May 2024, which allegedly aimed to deliver humanitarian aid to besieged Gazans, while it was reportedly used in an Israeli-American attack on Al-Nuseirat refugee camp that resulted in over 200 deaths.
It’s unclear how exactly Stanley was injured or by whom, though officials have emphasized that it was not combat related.
Background of the US Pier and Soldiers
Sgt. Stanley, a member of the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) based at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia, played a vital role in the US operation. Capt. Shkeila Milford-Glover, spokesperson for the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, confirmed Stanley was injured while supporting this operation and had been receiving long-term treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, after being transferred from an Israeli hospital in June.
While officials remain tight-lipped on the exact nature of Stanley’s injury, it was described as ‘non-combat related’. It is also unknown how and by whom he was injured.
Vice Adm. Bradley Cooper, deputy commander of US Central Command, noted at the time that Stanley and two others had sustained injuries during a “maritime incident”. The pier operation, launched on May 17, under the pretext of sending humanitarian aid, but it was later revealed that it was used in AL-Nuseirat massacre, which claimed the lives of more than 200 Palestinians. The floating pier was operational for only about 10 days, during which minimal aid was provided.
Israeli forces also used humanitarian trucks to infiltrate Gaza’s Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in June. Footage aired by Al Jazeera indicated that these trucks, disguised as aid vehicles, facilitated an operation leading to the deaths of over 200 Palestinians.
Although US officials denied the military port’s involvement in any military activities, several footage proved the opposite.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan had assured the public that American troops were not involved in Al-Nuseirat massacre in Gaza.
