US releases $3.5 billion in military aid to Israel despite violations

Washington DC. (Quds News Network)- The US government has approved the release of $3.5 billion in military aid to Israel, allowing the occupation state to procure advanced weapons systems and equipment from American manufacturers. This funding, part of a larger $14.1 billion supplemental package passed by Congress in April, comes even as Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and starting a regional war.

The US State Department notified lawmakers on Thursday night that the Biden administration would move forward with the release of these funds, which had been held for several months. The timing of this decision aligns with increasing tensions in the region following Israel’s recent assassinations of senior Hamas and Hezbollah leaders in Tehran and Beirut.

Israel has been the largest cumulative recipient of US foreign aid since its founding, receiving about $310 billion in total economic and military assistance.
