US professor suspended over criticizing censorship on discussing Oct 7th reinstated by university

New York (Quds News Network)- Leading American political theorist, Jodi Dean, who was removed from her teaching position after writing an article describing how mainstream academia has tried to censor how people feel and think about the Hamas-led military operation on 7 October, has been reinstated after an investigation found her article had not endangered any of her students.

Mark Gearan, president of Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS), stated that an investigation into Jodi’s article had concluded that her “conduct did not rise to the level of harassment or discrimination under the law or our policies.”

“Professor Dean is free to return to the classroom this fall,” he added.

Dear wrote an article titled, “Palestine Speaks for Everyone”, in which she examined how American academia was dictating how students and faculty should think, feel, and speak about the military operation of 7 October.

She discussed how mainstream academia had obstructed independent analysis and had instead chosen to police the way events in Gaza were to be processed.

The college removed Dean from her duties as a professor at the university, pending an investigation claiming that there “may be students on our campus who may feel threatened in or outside of the classroom” by her essay.
