US foreign policy as a bargaining chip: ‘Israel’ offers Morocco US support for normalization

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli government sought to organize a tripartite summit between ‘Israel’, the US, and Morocco where the United States supports Morocco over Western Sahara while Morocco normalizes its relations with the occupation state, reported Axios.
The Israeli efforts, which are still ongoing, started nearly one year and a half ago, when Netanyahu, addressing the United Nations Security Council or General Assembly, said: “By empowering Iran, it brought Israel and many Arab states closer together than ever before in an intimacy and friendship that I have not seen in my lifetime and would have been unimaginable a few years ago”.
According to the report, the next day, Netanyahu had a secret meeting with Morocco’s foreign minister, Nasser Bourita, on the margins of the General Assembly.
According to Israeli sources, Netanyahu’s national security adviser, Meir Ben-Shabbat, wanted to use Israel’s close relations with the Trump administration to reach a breakthrough with Morocco, reported Axios.
So, he approached Trump administration officials and proposed the U.S. support the Moroccan position on a sensitive national security issue — the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.
