UNRWA Chief: No Safe or Significant Aid in Gaza for Over 3 Months

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza has seen no safe, dignified, or large-scale humanitarian aid for more than three months, said UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza has seen no safe, dignified, or large-scale humanitarian aid for more than three months, said UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
In a public statement, Lazzarini warned that suffering in Gaza is growing worse every day. “People’s suffering is unconscionable, deepening further on a daily basis,” he said.
He urged the world to act immediately. “We must bring in aid at scale and deliver it safely—wherever people are.”
Lazzarini stressed that the United Nations, including UNRWA, is the only body capable of doing this effectively. “We have the expertise, experience, and resources,” he said. He pointed to the last ceasefire as proof. During that time, the UN delivered aid successfully when barriers were lifted.
He warned that continued delays in responding to Gaza’s deepening hunger will cause further devastation. “It will push people to an endless bottom and deepen dehumanization,” Lazzarini said.
UN officials and humanitarian groups have repeatedly called on Israel to lift the siege and allow the entry of life-saving aid. Over two million Palestinians in Gaza face growing hunger, displacement, and trauma as the blockade continues. Nearly 60 people, mostly children, died from hunger due to the Israeli ongoing blockade.
