UNICEF: Israel Kills 130 Children in One of the Deadliest Days for Kids in a Year

Gaza (Quds News Network)- UNICEF has condemned Israel’s latest attacks on Gaza, which killed more than 130 children in a single day. According to UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell, this is one of the highest child death tolls recorded in a single day over the past year.

“The reports and images emerging from Gaza are beyond horrifying,” Russell said. “Some of the strikes reportedly hit makeshift shelters where children and families were sleeping, proving once again that nowhere is safe in Gaza.”

The Israeli attacks come as Gaza faces a worsening humanitarian crisis. Lifesaving aid has been blocked for 16 days, leaving people without essential supplies. Electricity to Gaza’s main desalination plant has also been cut, drastically reducing access to clean drinking water.

Russell warned that Gaza’s one million children, already suffering from 15 months of genocide, are now trapped in even greater fear and danger. She urged Israel to reinstate the ceasefire immediately and called on world leaders to intervene before the situation worsens.

UNICEF has demanded respect for international humanitarian law, the protection of civilians, and the urgent delivery of aid. “The attacks and violence must stop—now,” Russell said.
