Uncommitted National Movement demands halt to US arms to Israel after American activist killed by Israeli army
Michigan, US (Quds News Network)- The Uncommitted National Movement has condemned the killing of American citizen Aysenur Eygi by Israeli military forces in the occupied West Bank, highlighting the deadly impact of US weapons funding for Israel. The movement called on the Biden-Harris administration to stop the flow of US arms to Israel and launch a Department of Justice investigation into Eygi’s death.
The movement criticized the administration’s uneven response, noting that while President Biden and Vice President Harris have expressed outrage over American settlers imprisoned in Gaza, their reaction to the killing of American citizens by Israel’s military, like Eygi, has been disturbingly muted.
“The imbalance in outrage reflects a deeper injustice in US policy, which devalues Palestinian lives and those in solidarity with them,” the statement said.
The movement further argued that the lack of US accountability for Israel’s actions in Gaza has emboldened Israel to escalate its brutality in the West Bank. This, they claim, makes continued US military support for Israel both morally indefensible and politically shortsighted.
In closing, the statement called for an end to the “hierarchy of human value” in US policies, where Palestinian lives are deemed less worthy of protection and dignity.
