UAE official: Another War on Gaza will not harm our relations with ‘Israel’ and Bin Zayed to visit ‘Israel’ soon

Abu Dhabi (QNN)- Ali al-Nuaimi, head of the Emarati Committee on Defense and Foreign Relations, told Yediot Aharonot that any future Israeli war on the Gaza Strip would not affect the normalization agreement between Abu Dhabi and the occupation state.

In an interview with the Israeli newspaper, Al-Nuaimi said the “warm peace with Israel” can endure such crises as a “war on Gaza.”

Between 2008 and 2014, ‘Israel’ launched three wars on the Gaza Strip, in addition to dozens of other attacks, which killed and injured tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians and destroyed thousands of homes.

Al-Nuaimi said he believed that the signing of the normalization agreement with the occupation state would take place this month, and said abu Dhabi’s crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, would visit Tel Aviv soon.

He also stressed that direct flights between the Gulf country and the occupation state will start “immediately” following the signing of the agreement adding: “You will see very rapid progress because we have dynamic leadership and an open heart and mind. many things have happened and more will happen.”

Al-Nuaimi, who also heads the Center for Combating Extremism and Terrorism, urged Israelis not to compare the agreement with the UAE with those with Egypt and Jordan.

The UAE official also expressed his belief that ‘Israel’ would “remove its opposition to Washington’s sale of F-35s to the UAE.”

In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that the normalization agreement between ‘Israel’ and the UAE does not include the sale of “F-35” fighters to the United States

Blaming Palestinians for being occupied

Al-Nuaimi accused the Palestinian leadership of being “stuck in the past.”

The Palestinian leadership had frozen all contact with the occupation state after the later revealed its intention to annex large territories from the West Bank. Palestine refused to resume negotiations with ‘Israel’, because of the Israeli rejection to recognize Palestinians’ and the expansion of settlement on Palestinian land.

On August 13, 2020, the UAE and ‘Israel’ reached an agreement to normalize relations. The agreement was widely condemned by the Palestinian factions and leadership as treason by the UAE and a stab in the back of the Palestinian people.
