UAE delegation arrives in ‘Israel’ to prepare for embassy opening
An Emirati delegation arrived in ‘Israel’ yesterday to prepare for the opening of the UAE Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israeli Broadcasting Corporation(Kan) reported.
It said, “A technical delegation from the UAE arrived in Israel today, as part of preparations for the opening of an Emirati embassy in Tel Aviv.”
On Sunday, Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Khaja was sworn in as the first UAE ambassador to the occupation state of ‘Israel’.
Last month, ‘Israel’ opened an embassy in the United Arab Emirates, a move that came after four months of normalizing ties between ‘Israel’ and UAE.
“The Israeli embassy in the United Arab Emirates will promote the full range of relations between the two countries in all areas, and expand ties with the Emirati government, economic bodies and the private sector, academic institutions, the media, and more. The embassy will work to advance Israel’s interests and to serve its citizens,” Israeli foreign ministry said.
The UAE and ‘Israel’ normalized their relations in September in a move that was followed by Bahrain, Sudan and recently Morocco.
Palestinians condemned the normalization agreements, saying they encouraged Israel’s denial of their rights and do not serve the Palestinian cause.
