U.S. Senator says Israel committing war crimes in Gaza

Washington D.C. (Quds News Network) – In a bold statement before the Senate, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen from Maryland has accused Israel of committing war crimes during its ongoing military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Van Hollen declared, “Children in Gaza are dying now due to the deliberate denial of food. This is a war crime. It is a written war crime. Those orchestrating it are war criminals.”

During his address to the Senate, the Senator raised the crucial question, “What will the United States do? What will we do? What will President (Joe) Biden do? The President must take action in response to what is happening.”

He continued, “First and foremost, the President must demand that the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allows an increase in aid to Gaza. Until that happens, Biden should cut any assistance to Israel.”

The intense Israeli military offensive in Gaza, ongoing for five months, has resulted in the deaths of at least 28,000 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health in the region.

Gaza is currently facing a dire humanitarian crisis, with severe shortages of food and fuel. Approximately one and a half million displaced individuals are now crammed into Rafah in the southern part of the territory.
