Two Palestinians killed by Israeli forces near Hebron

Hebron (Quds News Network)- Two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed Ras Al-Aroud area, south of the town of Sa’ir, where confrontations broke out during which the occupation forces fired live bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets, sound bombs, and poisonous gas towards the citizens, killing 22-year-old Ramez Al-Halaika, while dozens of civilians suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas.

Earlier today, another Palestinian young man was also killed by Israeli forces during a dawn raid into the town of Sa’ir. The man was identified as Mohammad Shalalda, 39.

Local sources said that the occupation forces fired live bullets at citizens during the raid into the town, seriously wounding Shalaldah, before succumbing to his injuries later.

Israeli attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, which had been escalating even before Israel’s genocide war on Gaza began in October, has intensified dramatically in the past months. There has been an increase in Israeli military raids, expansion of settlements and violent attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages.

Between 7 October 2023 and 15 July 2024, 554 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in addition to two who died of wounds sustained prior to 7 October, according to the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.

These include 539 killed by Israeli forces, ten by Israeli settlers, and seven where it remains unknown whether the perpetrators were Israeli forces or settlers.
