Two citizens killed in Israeli drone strike on vehicle in Jenin

Occupied Jenin (Quds News Network)- The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening the killing of two citizen due to an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in the West Bank city of Jenin. The attack left two charred bodies and also resulted in several injuries.

According to a brief statement from the Ministry, the identities of the two victims remain unknown. Their bodies were transported to Jenin Governmental Hospital after the strike, which targeted a vehicle in the city’s central area. The attack involved two missiles fired at the vehicle near Al-Battikha Roundabout, leading to the complete destruction of the car.

Eyewitnesses recounted the horrific scene, describing how the vehicle burst into flames following the strike. Rescue teams, including those from the Red Crescent, rushed to the site to extinguish the fire and recover the remains. The Red Crescent confirmed that one of the deceased, an 18-year-old, was pulled from the wreckage.

The Israeli military, in a brief statement, claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming that they had targeted a “resistance cell” in the area. This strike is part of a broader strategy recently adopted by the Israeli army, involving airstrikes in the West Bank to minimize the risks to its ground forces during frequent raids.

This latest incident in Jenin occurs amidst a broader escalation of Israeli attacks across the West Bank, coinciding with Israel’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip. The genocide in Gaza, now in its 316th day, has resulted in over 40,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure.

Additionally, the Israeli military’s aggression in the West Bank has been accompanied by a surge in settler violence, with settlers carrying out numerous attacks against Palestinians under the protection of Israeli forces.
