Turkey slams Israel’s brutal assault on Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque and worshipers

Ankara (QNN)- The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Wednesday Israeli forces’ raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and their brutal assault of Palestinian worshipers who were peacefully observing the holy month of Ramadan on Tuesday night.

It said in a statement that these attacks on worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan are not acceptable in any way.

It expressed its deep concern about the escalation that spread to the region, especially Gaza.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry called on the Israeli occupation government to immediately stop all provocations, actions and attacks that might lead to a further escalation of tensions in the region.

Last night, Israeli occupation forces brutally attacked dozens of Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque before forcibly expelling them from the site while they were observing I’tikaf.

Hundreds of women, men, elderly people, and children were staying overnight to observe the I’tikaf at the al-Qibli prayer hall. The forces used stun grenades and fired tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets into the prayer hall. They also beat worshipers with batons and riot guns, wounding dozens and arresting between 400-500 men.
