Turkey condemns Israeli settler provocations and raids of Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Turkish Foreign Ministry has released a statement in which it condemned Israeli settlers’ provocations and raids of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied Jerusalem on Sunday.

“Israeli security forces have once again violated the sanctity of al-Haram al-Sharif by allowing racist Jewish groups to raid al-Aqsa Mosque, attacking Palestinian civilians praying in the area and detaining Palestinian civilians, including children and women, leading to images that offended human dignity,” the statement said.

It added, “The continuation of such provocations at a time when the memories of the atmosphere of tension, escalation and conflict caused by Israel’s attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque in the holy month of Ramadan are still fresh in our minds, is extremely dangerous.”

The ministry reiterated the call to the Israeli occupation government to end these provocative acts and attacks at once.

More than 1500 Israeli settlers raided the courtyards of the mosque on Sunday under the occupation forces protection who brutally assaulted and detained Palestinian worshipers in the courtyards of the mosque, including Palestinian youths and women.

Lately, settler groups have called for massive raids into Al Aqsa mosque on Sunday, on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holy pilgrimage days in Islam.

The settler groups called for the raid to mark the so-called ‘Tisha B’Av’, a fast day which marks ‘the destruction of the Temple’, as zionists believe.

The groups have also called for protests in the Old City on the same day.

The latest fight between the occupation state and the resistance was sparked by settlers’ raids into Al Aqsa mosque as well as the Israeli ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam which located in occupied Jerusalem.
