Trump’s Ambassador Mike Huckabee: “We’d Be Happy If Gaza Residents Are Allowed to Leave”

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said he will be happy if native Palestinians in Gaza who want to “leave” are given the chance. His comments came in a televised interview with Israel’s Channel 12.

“We’d be happy if residents of Gaza who want to leave were given the opportunity,” Huckabee said.

He added, “I do believe that everyone — and President Trump would lead this parade — wants people who want out to have that opportunity. They shouldn’t be held by Hamas and forced to stay.”

Huckabee also tried to reassure Israelis worried about recent tension between Trump and Israeli leaders.

“I would say to people in Israel: relax. Calm down. Donald Trump loves you. There’s no doubt about that. He’s got your back,” he said. “There shouldn’t be any lack of trust. No president has ever done more for Israel.”

Huckabee is one of the most vocal Israel supporters in the Republican Party. In 2015, he claimed Israel had a stronger right to the West Bank than the U.S. does to Manhattan.

His comments come as reports suggest a growing rift between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Last week, Israel’s Army Radio said Trump’s close aides told Israeli Minister Ron Dermer that the former president is cutting direct contact with Netanyahu because Trump believes Netanyahu is trying to manipulate him.

“Trump hates being manipulated more than anything,” one source reportedly said.

According to Israel Hayom, Trump allies accused Netanyahu of breaking promises and stalling Trump’s Middle East plans.

For 19 months, Israel and the U.S. have waged a genocidal war in Gaza. Israel bombed the Rafah crossing to Egypt and shut down all other entry points, blocking humanitarian aid. At the same time, Trump pushed a plan to expel all Gazans—a proposal widely condemned by Palestinian officials and rights groups as ethnic cleansing. Israeli leaders have openly framed the war as offering Gazans just two choices: leave or die.
