Trump unveils “peace plan” that strongly favors ‘Israel’

Washington (QNN)- US President Donald Trump has presented his long-awaited Middle East peace plan on Tuesday, strongly taking the side of the occupation state.

Standing alongside Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump proposed a two-state solution, which he claimed “could be the last opportunity” for Palestinians.

“My vision presents a win-win opportunity for both sides, a realistic two-state solution that resolves the risk of Palestinian statehood to Israel’s security”, he said.

Despite of insisting that it is a good plan for the Palestinians, Trump’s plan includes recognizing Israeli sovereignty over large parts of the West Bank.

It also recognizes Jerusalem as “Israel’s undivided capital” but at the same time “provide[s] a Palestinian capital in eastern Jerusalem”.

“No Palestinians or Israelis will be uprooted from their homes”, Trump said, suggesting that existing illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank will remain.

Trump also announced that he will work with the king of Jordan to ensure that the status quo governing the key holy site in Jerusalem, Al Aqsa mosque, is preserved. The current situation in the holy mosque could be summarized in daily Israeli raids and assaults against Muslim worshipers.

Trump also indicated that the West Bank would not be cut in half under the plan.

“We will also work to create a contiguous territory within the future Palestinian state, for when the conditions for statehood are met, including the firm rejection of terrorism,” he said.

Palestinian officials and factions have unanimously already rejected the plan when its proposals were leaked.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said “a thousand no’s” to the Mideast peace plan announced by President Donald Trump, which strongly favors ‘Israel’.

“After the nonsense that we heard today we say a thousand no’s to the Deal of The Century”, he said.

In the same context, a senior Hamas official said Tuesday that Hamas rejects the “conspiracies” announced by the US and ‘Israel’ and that “all options are open” in responding to the Trump administration’s newly unveiled peace plan, which heavily favors the occupation state.

“We are certain that our Palestinian people will not let these conspiracies pass. So, all options are open. The [Israeli] occupation and the US administration will bear the responsibility for what they did,” senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya said.

Several protests broke out in Gaza. Protesters burned tires and pictures of President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
