Trump Shares Airstrike Video on Truth Social, Claims Houthi Fighters Were Killed

Washington (Quds News Network)- U.S. President Donald Trump posted a video on his platform, Truth Social, claiming a U.S. airstrike killed dozens of Houthi fighters. The black-and-white aerial footage shows a group of people gathered in a semi-circle before a large explosion hits the area. Thick smoke rises as the video cuts to the aftermath, revealing destroyed vehicles and debris.
Trump captioned the video: “These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack. Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis! They will never sink our ships again!”
There is no evidence confirming the identities of those killed. The group appeared in an open and unprotected space, raising doubts about Trump’s claim that they were fighters preparing for an operation.
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt praised over 200 U.S. strikes on “Houthi targets”, calling them “successful.” Tensions continue to rise between the U.S. and the Yemeni group, known formally as Ansar Allah, as the U.S. continues its attacks to protect Israel.
Earlier, Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi declared that attacks on U.S. naval assets would continue. In a televised address, he said the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Truman was being constantly pursued and forced to retreat to the northern Red Sea. He stated that the group now holds an advanced position in naval warfare.
Since March 15, U.S. airstrikes in Yemen have intensified. At least 66 civilians have been killed and 142 others wounded — including women and children.
Trump had previously ordered what he called a “major strike” on the Houthis in mid-March, vowing to wipe them out completely. In response, the Houthis said Trump’s threats would not stop their support for Gaza. The group resumed operations against Israeli targets and ships in the Red Sea, coinciding with Israel’s renewed offensive on Gaza since March 18.
Despite the U.S. campaign, a report by The New York Times on Friday cited Pentagon officials saying that efforts to destroy the Houthis’ missile and drone arsenal had limited success. Officials admitted that many Houthi launch sites and bunkers remained intact, allowing the group to continue launching operations.
