Trump says Bahrain will normalize relations with ‘Israel’
Washington (QNN)- The US president Donald Trump announced on Friday that Bahrain and the occupation state of ‘Israel’ will normalize relations.
Trump said the agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and ‘Israel’ to conclude a “peace agreement”, calling it a “historic achievement.”
“Another historic achievement today!.. Trump tweeted on his official Twitter account. Our great friends Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain agree on a peace agreement,” he said, adding: “The second Arab country to make peace with Israel in 30 days!”, referring to the UAE’s normalization agreement.
“Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed to a peace treaty between Bahrain and Israel,” a statement by the White House said.
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) condemned Bahrain’s announcement, calling it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.
Reuters quoted an official of the organization condemning the move, which bahrain took following suit of the UAE.
Hamas condemned the move and said it is an insistence to apply Trump’s Middle East deal, which liquidates the Palestinian cause.
Jared Kushner, an adviser to the president, said the agreement between Manama and Tel Aviv would include the exchange of embassies.
According to the statement, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa called us President Donald Trump today, with the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
