Trump accuses Jewish leaders of a lack of ‘loyalty’

Washington (QNN)- Former US President Donald Trump accused Jewish leaders of a lack of “loyalty” on Friday morning in a post on Truth Social, saying “they should be ashamed of themselves.”

Posting a link to an article in The Gateway Pundit by Wayne Allyn Root, defending him from the outrage sparked by his dinner at Mar-a-Lago with rapper Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, Trump thanked the author and wrote, “Thank you Wayne – You are great but how quickly Jewish Leaders forgot that I was the best, by far, President for Israel.”

“They should be ashamed of themselves. This lack of loyalty to their greatest friends and allies is why large numbers in Congress, and so many others, have stopped giving support to Israel.”

Trump faced a firestorm of criticism following his dinner with Fuentes. He was reportedly set to dine with Ye, who brought Fuentes and several other guests to the dinner.

The former president has since claimed he was not aware of Fuentes’s views when he arrived at the dinner.

“I had never heard of the man — I had no idea what his views were, and they weren’t expressed at the table in our very quick dinner, or it wouldn’t have been accepted,” he said.

However, Trump has also faced pushback over his relationship with Ye, who was recently accused of antisemitism for praising Adolf Hitler and the Nazis on Alex Jones’s Infowars program and was suspended from Twitter for posting a picture of a swastika.

In his article, Root railed against former President Barack Obama and lauded Trump, writing “while president, Trump did more for the state of Israel and the Jewish people than anyone in history.”

He risked his career and political standing to always support Israel, through thick and thin. In Israel, Trump is beloved. Israelis have named streets, train stations and soccer teams after Trump,” the author claimed.

The former president has previously made comments similar to Friday’s post, criticizing American Jews for failing to recognize his support for ‘Israel’.

In October, Trump wrote he “could easily be” Israel’s prime minister as he wished that American Jews were more “appreciative” of what he has done for ‘Israel’.

“No President has done more for Israel than I have. Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the US,” he said.

In 2019, then-President Trump also accused Jewish people who vote for Democrats of showing either “a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

In 2021, Trump accused the U.S. Jews who are not orthodox of “no longer loving Israel” and claimed “evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country.”

Trump added at the time that the fact that around 75% of Jewish voters were planning to support Joe Biden in 2020 was evidence that they either “don’t like Israel or don’t care about Israel.”

Trump also claimed that ‘Israel’ once had “absolute power” over Congress but today it’s “the exact opposite,” referring to former President Obama and President Biden.
