Tony Blair Institute Linked to Israeli Plan to Depopulate Gaza and Ethnically Cleanse Its People for ‘Trump Riviera’ Project
London (Quds News Network)- The Tony Blair Institute (TBI) has been linked to a postwar ethnic cleansing plan for Gaza that was suggested by the US President Donald Trump. The project includes turning the devastated enclave into a “Trump Riviera,” with infrastructure named after Gulf monarchs, according to a Financial Times report released Sunday.
The plan, outlined in a presentation titled The Great Trust, was created by Israeli businessmen with support from Boston Consulting Group (BCG). It assumes that at least 25% of Gaza’s Palestinian population would “voluntarily” leave with little expectation of return.
Experts say the proposal lays the groundwork for mass expulsion of Gaza’s indigenous population. Human rights groups have condemned it as an attempt to erase Palestinians from their homeland under the guise of redevelopment.
The plan envisions Gaza transformed into an investment hub. It includes blockchain-based trade systems, low-tax special economic zones, and artificial islands modeled after Dubai’s coastline. One slide calls for putting Gaza’s public land into a trust under Israeli oversight, while private landowners would receive digital tokens in exchange for their property.
Despite denying involvement, the Tony Blair Institute admitted that two of its staff were present in discussions about the plan. Initially, a TBI spokesperson told FT, “TBI was not involved in the preparation of the deck.” But after the paper presented evidence of a private group chat that included TBI staff, Israeli organizers, and BCG consultants, the institute walked back its claim.
“We have never said TBI knew nothing,” the spokesperson later clarified, adding that the institute was in “listening mode.”
An internal TBI document titled Gaza Economic Blueprint also circulated among project members. It outlined deep-sea port plans, artificial islands, and links to the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor. However, unlike the BCG-backed proposal, it did not suggest relocating Palestinians.
TBI insists it did not write or endorse the relocation plan and maintains that Blair’s role was limited. Earlier this year, former BCG adviser Phil Reilly met with Blair in London to discuss Gaza aid. TBI confirmed the meeting but said Blair was only “listening.”
The plan’s backers include Israeli tech figures like Liran Tancman and Michael Eisenberg. Both are reportedly tied to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), another infamous group created by Israel and the Trump administration.
GHF’s operations have drawn heavy criticism. Since launching what they call ‘aid sites’ in May, Israeli forces have killed at least 700 Palestinians and wounded over 4,000 near GHF aid points, according to rights groups.
The Financial Times reports that GHF received a $100 million pledge from an unnamed country. The 30-page Great Trust presentation, shared with US and regional officials, outlines ten “Mega Projects.” These include roads and landmarks named after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (“MBS Ring”) and UAE’s Mohammed bin Zayed (“MBZ Central”). The plan also targeted foreign investment from global giants like Tesla, Amazon, and IKEA.
One document even claims Gaza’s economic value could rise from “$0 today” to $324 billion under the scheme.
Meanwhile, critics point to the Blair Institute’s longstanding ties with pro-Israel organizations. Blair is an honorary patron of the UK’s Jewish National Fund, which funds Israeli settlement expansion and has removed Palestine from its maps. TBI has also accepted donations from figures linked to illegal settlements and Islamophobic networks.
A map on TBI’s website includes the occupied West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights as part of Israel, reinforcing concerns over the organization’s alignment.
The project is now under growing scrutiny. Activists and legal experts warn that it reflects a broader push by Israel and its allies to reshape Gaza by displacing its people and turning the land into a profit-driven, tightly controlled zone while sidelining the rights of native Palestinians.
Israel says it will open the Rafah crossing only for individuals and under full Israeli control, while continuing to block the entry of aid and goods into Gaza, tying any broader opening to the recovery of an Israeli soldier’s body despite the ceasefire terms.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi says the Justice Department will seek the death penalty for Elias Rodriguez after an incident against former Israeli soldiers at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, a move she announced at a Florida Zionist conference while framing the case within a broader crackdown on alleged ‘antisemitism’ .
Hamas says it has handed mediators all available information on the location of the last Israeli soldier prisoner’s body in Gaza in an Israeli-controlled area, as Israel continues to violate Trump’s ceasefire.
